How to Clean Ventilation Mesh Grease Filters

Depending on what type of filter you have, downdraft, mesh or baffle you will access the filter differently. You can watch the videos below to learn how or refer to your owner’s manual. If you do not have an owner's manual, you can download it here.

1. Turn off the hood and make sure it has completely cooled before beginning.
2. Remove the grease filters. The edges of the filters may be sharp so make sure to handle with care to avoid cuts.
3. Wash the filters with hot, soapy water. If needed, soak the filters to remove stubborn grease deposits. The filters can be washed in an empty dishwasher as well. Cleaning in the dishwasher may cause a slight discoloration. The grease trays can also be washed with hot, soapy water or in the dishwasher. Do NOT use abrasive cleaners and cloths to clean the filters or trays.
4. After washing, make sure to dry the filters thoroughly and then reinstall the filters.
